Recipe Roundup: 4 of My All Time Favorite Desserts

Hello blog! Today I wanted to share some of my favorite dessert recipes, which is something that has been much requested on Instagram. It’s no secret I LOVE baking- it’s always been something that relaxes and fascinates me- especially when it comes to cakes. During my disorder my relationship with baking was definitely not normal or healthy and I often baked, without eating it, to prove my “willpower” in a sense. Recovery has allowed me to reclaim my passion for baking and enjoy the WHOLE process.

Yes, this means eating it, too!

I tried to look for photos I’ve taken of these desserts because I’ve made them over and over- but of course when I went to look I couldn’t seem to find any of super high quality- ugh. Just know that these are AMAZING and I couldn’t recommend them more. Here they are:

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies are a delicious bite of fall! I’ve used this recipe so many times that I have officially lost count. They are my boyfriend’s favorite so I always have to start making them as soon as the Texas weather gets below 90 degrees. They’re light, fluffy, and have the perfect combo of chocolate and pumpkin. Recipe here.

FYI…I usually do about 1/2 the amount of salt and a little less cinnamon than the recipe calls for, but that is optional!

Love at First Sight Chocolate Cake

The name…says it all. This is my absolute go-to homemade chocolate cake recipe. I usually don’t make the frosting- nothing wrong with it, I just like to whip up unique flavors- but this cake will change your life. It’s also a really predictable recipe when made correctly, which is nice when it’s being made for a special occasion. Check it out here.

Lemon Loaf

This loaf is perfect for anything- gifting, snacking, enjoying with coffee- and is a copycat of the famous Starbucks staple! I usually double the recipe and make two…that’s how good it is. Although this recipe may not be super seasonal for fall, it’s amazing for Starbucks lovers, lemon enthusiasts, or to get a break from rainy/dreary days. Find the recipe (and video tutorial!) here.

Red Velvet Cookies

If you’re a beginner baker or are looking for something quick/easy- this is it! These cookies are so delicious and are made with a base of cake mix, so most of the work is done for you. These are the perfect winter and fall cookie, have four total ingredients, and have a bake time that’s under 15 minutes. It doesn’t get better than that. Find the recipe here.
